Welcome to Dayton Gurdwara Website

Sikh Society of Dayton was formed in July 1984. There were about a dozen families who got together. We started monthly Gurdwara at various locations - Libraries, Schools for almost 2 years. Ultimately we started to rent the basement of the present location of the Gurdwara once a month for $25.00. We bought the Gurdwara building in December 1994. We continued to have monthly Deevan in the basement. The renovation and remodeling of the second floor started in July 1998. Renovation also included installing new roof, building a new entrance. By October 1999, we started using the second floor for our monthly Deevan. Basement became the Langar hall. In June 2000 the smaller room upstairs was made into \"Sukhaasan Room\". We started having 2 monthly Deevans every 2nd and 4th Sunday. We started Gurdwara classes in 1985. Punjabi, Kirtan and Sikh Religion were taught to the children and youth. Our kids participated in Youth Symposiums, Kirtan competitions, Sikh Camps. Gurdwara sangat has grown over the years.
